The Float Zone at Transitions
The Float Zone runs four identical float tanks on Dabney Road — the largest set in central Virginia — each holding 175 gallons of skin-temperature water and 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt. Floating is the only service on offer; there is a refresh room, a post-float lounge and off-street parking.

First visit
What to expect
Floats start with paperwork, a short orientation video and a tour of your private room, with a walkthrough of the pod controls before you get in. You control the light, the music and whether the lid stays open, cracked or closed. Towels, earplugs, soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser and hairdryers are supplied, so bring only personal toiletries; a bathing cap can be lent if you would rather keep your hair dry.
