Newtowne Hyperbarics designs and manufactures mild hyperbaric chambers in the USA for home and clinical use, offered in several shapes and sizes, all positionable for top or side entry and operable from both inside and outside. The chambers use a custom airtight zipper that requires no lubrication, in place of the belts and buckles common on soft chambers, and ship with a frame and mattress included on every model except the A4-27. The business began in 1984 as Typhoon Water Wares, Ltd., a maker of medical devices and pressure equipment; in 2001 it was commissioned to design chambers holding higher sustained pressures than the units then on the market, manufactured them for other brands over the following decade, and subsequently formed Newtowne Hyperbarics to sell its own line direct.
