Detroit, MI
Open since 1930 and the last historic bathhouse standing in Detroit, The Schvitz runs two saunas at 180-200°F alongside a pool, showers, an outdoor patio and a house kitchen. Admission is $40 at the door, walk-ins only, and the schedule alternates all-gender hours with men-only and women-only sessions.

First visit
There are no memberships and no reservations — walk-ins only, one flat admission per person, covering a locker, towels and access to both saunas, the pool, showers, common areas and the outdoor patio. Bathing suits are required during all-gender hours and optional during the men-only and women-only sessions. Sunday sessions are billed separately, so re-entry between them is charged again. Outside food is not allowed, but a house kitchen runs seven days a week. Two lots sit beside the building, with street parking nearby.
