Standing on a vibrating platform loads the tendon through rapid small oscillations, which is proposed as an alternative way to deliver the mechanical loading stimulus that tendon rehab depends on.
What the research shows
This is the only modality on the page with a trial in patellar tendinopathy specifically. A randomized equivalence trial of 39 patients compared whole-body vibration against heavy slow resistance training and a waitlist. Both beat waitlist, and pain reduction was equivalent between vibration and resistance training, but function gains favoured resistance training and equivalence could not be confirmed for most other outcomes. Worth noting what this actually is: a loading program delivered differently, not a passive session.

Network meta-analysis of 37 randomized trials covering 17 interventions for short-term pain. Concludes eccentric loading should continue to be used as first-line treatment, recommends against extracorporeal shockwave therapy as no better than sham, and notes most results carried low or very low strength of evidence with only 15 of 37 studies at low risk of bias.
